About the Team
The Durable Coatings team is a group of friends who love to serve homeowners and develop their craft. One of our lead installers is Gabe, who is central Iowa’s John Daly, both in skill and finesse when it comes to golf and installing coatings! Our second installer Jacob is a secret accountant and self-proclaimed dart champion in the office. Owen, our third installer, served our country in the military and has the goal of becoming a pilot for Wycliffe Bible Translators. Andy loves to put in the work needed for every project and enjoys a good laugh. Last, but not least is our owner John, who loves limping to the finish line in local mud-runs and destroying the competition in slow pitch softball. He has a passion for employee-ownership and trying hard things in business. We are a family who works as a team to transform Iowa, one home at a time.

About the Owner
John Burdine Jr.
Founded by John Burdine Jr, an Ames native and ISU alum, Durable Coatings spun out of the world’s most awesome gutter cleaning, deck staining and soft washing company, Pressure Point Cleaners. John also started such world changing endeavors like eBike Iowa (super fun and fast electric bikes)! If you’re wondering how he has time for all that, the truth is he doesn’t, at least not on his own. John is surrounded by a truly special group of friends (family really) that share his values and make this group of companies the “Best Place to Work in the Universe” (according to internal polls). John is married to Ames native Neva and they have one incredible 10 year old daughter who can be found building forts at the bike shop. She would want you to know about their cat, Patmos. John’s interests and hobbies include slow pitch softball, riding fat tire eBikes, participating in Mud Runs, and fellowshipping at Stonebrook Church.
